Palm Beach market holds unique offering
The Northern Beaches of Sydney and in particular Palm Beach offers unparalleled lifestyle offerings with the ability to surf in the morning and sail in the afternoon, according to Lachlan Daddo.
The DiJones sales agent, who has spent the last 30 years living on the Northern Beaches said it is his favourite place in the world. “I have based my entire life around lifestyle,” Lochie said. “You can’t beat what Palm Beach, Avalon and my home, Newport offer.
“Newport village is going through a transformation with a new calibre of restaurants, cafes and new developments, while still holding onto its village vibe. Avalon village and Palm Beach are like being on holiday every day with their relaxed feel. It makes it hard to put on a suit.”
Lochie said COVID saw Palm Beach see a huge 45.2 per cent increase in property prices in 2021 to end the year with a median house price of $5.7 million as people chased the lifestyle dream, and its popularity is set to continue.
“COVID has taught us a hell of a lot about the opportunity that comes to you when you don’t have to be in the city working. People have turned their focus to family and lifestyle, they want a great space to live and work in. They have also had time to reflect on what they need and what is really important to them and they want to create memories in the perfect environment.
“Palm Beach appeals to a wide audience. There are people who are upgrading and downsizing, there is migration from the city and with the borders opening up again and travel becoming easier there will be lots of ex-pat interest. There is a lot of construction around Avalon and people are renovating. It’s really an exciting time.”
According to Lochie people are also taking advantage of the short term rental market.
“Buyers are taking advantage of lifestyle opportunities by living in their properties part time and renting them out when they aren’t using them. It’s all about maximising return on investment in the short and mid-term rental market while getting the enjoyment of a property when they want it.”
Lochie said the approach that he and fellow DiJones Palm Beach sales agent Jordan Black take is a mix of traditional and digital.
“I’ve worked in real estate for the last 12 years in sales as well as auctioneering and it is exciting to now be working with the DiJones team. We share the same values and strive for the best possible outcomes through asking great questions and listening to the wants and needs of our clients.”
Lochie said his experience working in television as a professional presenter, content producer and speaker has stood him in good stead for being a real estate professional.
“I love talking to people and being a part of their property journey.”
His travel experience also helps to quickly develop rapport and connections.
“On the Northern Beaches people seem to have travelled a lot and enjoy sharing their stories. I love playing a part in the next chapter of their lives, it makes me happy and gives me a real kick.”
